Overview
We are working with a well-established and growing logistics provider in the express cargo sector who are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their operations team. This is a key role focused on ensuring efficient and cost-effective planning of transport activities while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and optimise daily transport routes for a fleet of vehicles
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams
- Monitor deliveries and proactively resolve any delays or issues
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies
- Manage route planning systems and transport management software
- Analyse performance data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Communicate with clients regarding delivery schedules and updates
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, or distribution
- Strong geographical knowledge of Ireland (especially Leinster region)
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
Desirable
- Experience within express cargo or courier services
- Knowledge of compliance regulations (tachograph, driver hours, etc.)
- CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential)
