About Your New Job
As the Transport and Planning Operations Manager, you will:
- Take full ownership of the transport and planning department including overall leadership, P&L responsibility, and compliance.
- Lead and motivate transport planning and administration teams to deliver excellent service to clients.
- Oversee all aspects of transport operations, fleet utilisation, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise profitability, ensure cost control, and deliver continuous improvement across all processes.
- Ensure the highest standards in customer service, regulatory compliance, and safety performance.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, and handle escalated issues to maintain satisfaction.
- Drive business growth through data-driven reporting, KPI management, and strategic planning.
What Skills You Need
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations management.
- Proven leadership of transport planning and administration functions.
- Strong commercial/financial management with P&L and budgetary control experience.
- Deep understanding of Irish transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Advanced stakeholder management, communication, and team development skills.
- Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable:
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualified.
- Experience in the haulage, logistics, or distribution sectors.
- Project management and continuous improvement background.
