About Your New Job
- Oversee daily transport operations at distribution depots in Cork and Claremorris.
- Manage the HGV tanker vehicle fleet, drivers, and garage facilities, ensuring compliance with RSA responsibilities.
- Ensure mandatory training is up to date and address training needs through risk assessments.
- Proactively manage health and safety issues and ensure legal compliance.
- Handle day-to-day challenges such as vehicle maintenance, access to sites, and adverse weather conditions.
- Manage staffing levels to ensure effective resource management of the Bulk Driver team.
- Focus on continuous improvement of the depot’s operational performance.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Design, implement, and deliver KPIs, and produce statistical system data reports.
- Mentor, develop, and train the team to improve efficiencies and meet goals.
- Participate in the hiring process and manage conflicts to maintain a cooperative work atmosphere.
- Be on-call for out-of-hour incidents and visit customer sites for risk assessments.
- Support teams to deliver excellence in customer experience.
What Skills You Need
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager, preferably in the LPG, fuel, or hazardous materials sector.
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage.
- ADR certification or familiarity with ADR regulations for transporting hazardous goods.
- Relevant degree or diploma in logistics, transport management, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, health and safety standards, and emergency response procedures.
- Experience managing a fleet of tankers or specialized LPG vehicles.
- Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS) and route planning software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with vehicle telematics and GPS tracking systems.
