About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead our transport and planning team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department, ensuring transport services are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transport, planning, and administration teams.
- Manage daily transport operations, planning, and resource allocation.
- Take ownership of departmental budgets, costs, and profitability.
- Improve operational efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure vehicles and drivers are utilised effectively.
- Monitor KPIs, prepare reports, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Irish transport legislation, driver hours, RSA, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Lead, motivate, and develop your team through coaching and performance management.
- Resolve operational and customer issues quickly and professionally.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations management.
- Previous experience managing transport planning and daily operations.
- Strong commercial awareness with budget and P&L management experience.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Good knowledge of Irish transport regulations and compliance.
- Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
