About Your New Job
- As the Transport Manager, you will run the daily transport operation, managing all drivers and ensuring high standards across the team.
- You will plan and adjust routes daily, handling real-time issues such as absences, delays, breakdowns, or last-minute changes.
- You will hire, onboard, and manage drivers, conducting performance reviews and managing underperformance or exits as required.
- You will maintain full operational control, adapting plans to customer needs and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (tachographs, ADR, CVRT, operator license).
- You will manage relationships with external partners (logistics providers, suppliers, service providers), and coordinate with in-house mechanics to maintain vehicle readiness.
- You will operate with ownership, delivering results independently and communicating proactively with drivers, office, and leadership.
- Flexibility is essential: this role involves early mornings, evenings, and regular weekend involvement.
What Skills You Need
- Significant experience in transport/logistics with direct driver management.
- Mature, steady, and resilient under pressure, able to handle challenging situations.
- Capable of motivating drivers while maintaining operational standards.
- Organised, methodical, and experienced in practical, hands-on operational control.
- Strong communication, openness to feedback, and ability to align multiple stakeholders.
- A truck license is a strong advantage but not essential.
