Our client is a growing construction contractor currently involved in a major High Voltage Substation project in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and professional site standards, they are looking to add an experienced Slinger Signaller to their site team.
Due to ongoing works and the long-term nature of the project, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Slinger Signaller looking for consistent work with an established contractor.
About Your New Job
As a Slinger Signaler, you will play a key role in supporting lifting operations on a busy High Voltage Substation project. You will be responsible for safely attaching, directing, and controlling loads during lifting operations, working closely with crane operators, site management, and other members of the construction team.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out slinging and signaling duties safely and efficiently in line with site requirements.
- Attaching and securing loads correctly before lifting operations.
- Directing crane and lifting operations using recognized signals and communication procedures.
- Ensuring lifting areas are kept clear and safe during operations.
- Communicating clearly with crane operators, site management, and other site personnel.
- Checking lifting accessories and equipment before use and reporting any defects or issues.
- Ensuring loads are handled safely and within the appropriate lifting limits.
- Following all site lifting plans, procedures, and instructions from the site management team.
- Supporting general site duties where required.
- Adhering strictly to all health & safety requirements and wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience working as a Slinger Signaler on a busy construction site.
- A valid Safe Pass (essential).
- A valid CSCS Slinger Signaler ticket (essential).
- Manual Handling certification (essential).
- Strong knowledge and awareness of safe lifting and signaling procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
- The ability to work safely as part of a wider site team.
- A strong understanding of the importance of health & safety on a High Voltage Substation project.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
