About Your New Job
As Site Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations within a major construction site in Galway. You will ensure all works comply with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards, while driving efficient project delivery and maintaining exceptional site standards.
Main responsibilities include:
- Oversee logistical management and upkeep of team offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor and loading areas, and site roadways.
- Guarantee compliance with the Health & Safety plan (inductions, method statements, risk assessments, etc.) and statutory requirements.
- Supervise site workforce, ensuring safe work practices and immediate resolution of any health & safety (HS) issues.
- Implement and maintain safe systems of work, regularly assessing new risks and addressing accidents or near-miss incidents.
- Complete regular site safety inspections, manage quality assurance processes (using BIM), and ensure all records, inspection plans, and daily diaries are up-to-date.
- Monitor site progress, resolve technical or resource challenges, and ensure that workmanship meets the highest quality standards.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants, statutory bodies, and all stakeholders to achieve seamless project delivery.
- Manage, interpret, and update construction programmes, and provide accurate input for weekly progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with commercial and cost-control processes, materials management, and proper site records.
- Support team development, uphold company brand standards, and maintain a professional approach at all times.
What Skills You Need
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor on projects in Ireland or the UK.
- Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of construction health & safety, logistics, QA/QC (including BIM systems), and commercial management.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
