About Your New Job

As an HVAC-R Service Engineer, you will be working as part of a multi-skilled team delivering maintenance, service, and project work across a range of sites.

You will:

  • Carry out routine and preventive maintenance on commercial chillers, heat pumps, and HVAC-R plant.
  • Respond to reactive breakdowns, performing fault-finding and root-cause analysis on systems including CHW, LPHW, and LTHW.
  • Service and maintain critical cooling systems (CRAC, CRAH, DX, In-Row units) within data centre and pharma environments.
  • Inspect systems, diagnose faults, and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Complete testing, commissioning, and validation of air and water systems.
  • Produce detailed service and remedial reports and communicate updates to management.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and apprentices while contributing to team projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rota (approx. 1 in 7 weeks).

What Skills You Need

  • Proven experience working with commercial chillers, heat pumps, and HVAC-R systems.
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centres, pharma, etc.).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
  • Familiarity with BMS/BEMS systems.
  • Experience in servicing, commissioning, and reporting on HVAC-R plant.
