Our client is a market leader in the UK & Ireland’s Building Services sector, specialising in the design, manufacture, and delivery of innovative, sustainable, off-site prefabricated mechanical and energy solutions across the UK & Europe.

They deliver turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for data centres and large-scale district heating projects and are continuing to grow their Contracts team. As part of this expansion, they are appointing a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team based in Dundalk.

About Your New Job

As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical engineering projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.

You will coordinate design, procurement, commercial, and site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification. This role requires a strong technical background combined with excellent leadership and project management capability.

What Skills You Need

As the Senior Engineer you will:

  • Manage mechanical projects from planning and design through installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Develop and control project programmes, budgets, and scopes of work.
  • Provide technical oversight on mechanical system design, equipment selection, and layouts.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, technical submittals, and vendor documentation.
  • Coordinate procurement activities including specifications, RFQs, tender reviews, and contract awards.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party consultants, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and programme requirements.
  • Chair project meetings, track progress, and resolve technical or delivery issues.
  • Monitor costs, forecasts, and risks, implementing mitigation measures as required.

What You Need to Have

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, MEP equipment, and plant utilities.
  • Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
