Management Accountant - SME - PERM - 5 days in the office - €75k
Excellent opportunity for a Qualified Management Accountant to gain hands on experience with a reputable SME Company based in the Mallow area
Main duties
As the Financial Management Accountant, you will:
- Work under the direction of the Financial Controller, delivering project reporting, analysis and financial information in line with agreed reporting priorities and deadlines.
Prepare and maintain monthly project reporting packs showing revenue, cost to date, committed costs, accruals, forecast cost to complete, forecast final cost, margin and cash position. - Analyse project performance against tender, budget, procurement, design and latest approved forecasts, clearly identifying material variances, trends and emerging financial risks.
- Work with Project QSs, Project Managers and Commercial Managers to validate project data, challenge unexplained movements and ensure forecasts reflect the latest known project position.
- Prepare project-level variance analysis covering labour, materials, subcontractors, plant, preliminaries, design, transport and other relevant cost categories.
- Maintain clear reporting on committed costs, purchase orders, goods received not invoiced, accruals, uninvoiced liabilities and other items required to show the true project cost position.
The ideal candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA) with 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in financial or management accounting.
- Proven track record in the construction, property or manufacturing industries.
- Strong IT/financial systems skills and experience supporting finance transformation projects.
- Excellent understanding of financial controls, reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests as needed.
