About Your New Job

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead electrical design delivery across projects of varying sizes and complexity. You will provide technical expertise, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support the development of junior engineers.

You will:

• Lead and deliver electrical engineering design packages across all project stages, from concept through to construction.
• Take responsibility for defined engineering packages, ensuring high-quality outputs, programme adherence and coordination with other disciplines.
• Undertake detailed electrical design across areas including lighting, emergency lighting, small power, data, fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, MV/LV power distribution, containment and BMS.
• Coordinate electrical design activities with internal teams, BIM specialists and other engineering disciplines.
• Support the production of coordinated 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
• Apply sound engineering judgement to resolve technical challenges and identify project risks.
• Attend design meetings, workshops and site visits as required.
• Communicate clearly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders on technical matters.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Support the planning and organization of work within your area of responsibility.
• Contribute to the implementation of new systems, tools and processes.
• Promote high standards of quality, professionalism and sustainability in all project work.

This is a hybrid role, with regular office attendance expected and flexibility available to support business and personal needs.

What Skills You Need

To apply, you will need:

• A degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• At least six years’ experience in building services consultancy design.
• Proven experience delivering detailed electrical designs through the full design cycle.
• Expert knowledge of Amtech and Relux or Dialux.
• Strong experience in electrical building services design, including lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, security systems, containment and BMS.
• The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to lead projects internally and externally while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Good commercial awareness and the ability to make timely, disciplined project decisions.

BIM experience is advantageous. Chartership is desirable, with support available towards professional accreditation.
