This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of seven years’ experience. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across the renewable energy, circular economy, and civil infrastructure sectors. This is a permanent role with excellent career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high quality ecological consultancy services
- Providing specialist ecological advice across a variety of projects
- Planning, conducting and overseeing site ecological surveys and fieldwork
- Preparing and supervising the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
- Conducting Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reports
- Writing detailed technical reports and other project deliverables
- Ensuring quality control with a strong focus on accuracy, timelines, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team’s output
- Acting as expert witness during Oral Hearings
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and participating in meetings with clients and design teams as needed
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree in ecology or related discipline
- At least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy
- Member of CIEEM, CIWEM or comparable professional body
- Experienced in participating in oral hearing process and serving as an expert witness
- Comprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Proven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)
- Experienced in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills
- Holds a full, clean driver’s licence
