A leading consultancy in Disability Inclusion, Universal Design, and Accessibility is seeking a full-time Senior Accessibility Advisor to join their team. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will manage multiple on-site projects, conduct accessibility audits and inspections, prepare Revised Disability Access Certificates, and ensure compliance with Part M, Universal Design, and best practice standards. The role also involves coordinating project documentation and working closely with stakeholders across public, private, and non-profit sectors. Flexibility, creativity, and strong advisory skills are essential.
About Your New Job as Senior Accessability Advisor
- Take full project management responsibility for delivering a portfolio of accessibility projects.
- Attend client meetings and act as the main point of contact, building strong client relationships and ensuring effective communication.
- Report on project status and progress at weekly meetings, updating project lists, timelines, and forecasts.
- Collaborate with clients to solve issues and identify solutions while meeting all compliance requirements.
- Oversee on-site compliance with Granted Disability Access Certificates and Part M through site inspections, technical and submittal reviews, coordination of testing & commissioning documentation, and other BCAR activities.
- Prepare inspection plans, complete and issue documentation related to Revised Disability Access Certificate applications.
- Allocate work, review outputs, provide technical advice, and support on-the-job training for other staff members involved in your projects.
- Actively develop your own knowledge of accessibility, contribute internally, and engage with the broader accessibility community both nationally and internationally.
- Support wider company initiatives to promote accessibility awareness, such as contributing to newsletters, presentations, and CPDs.
What Skills You Need as Senior Accessability Advisor
- Qualification in Building Surveying, Architecture, Construction, or Engineering, with a high level of design skills.
- At least 5 years’ experience on construction site projects.
- Previous project management experience across different stages of construction projects.
- Experience with accessibility compliance projects (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of Part M / TGD M, BS8300, and Universal Design principles, with the ability to identify technical solutions.
- Passion for accessibility and commitment to continuously developing your technical knowledge in the field.
- Proficiency in complex drawing reviews and presentation techniques.
- Excellent project management skills, including delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.
- Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to set expectations, deliver quality service, and resolve issues.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills; able to quickly build relationships with stakeholders, clients, and colleagues.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly organised and structured in your approach to work.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Works well within a team, actively contributing to wider team efforts.
- Previous experience in coordinating and delivering work collaboratively with others
Salary & Benefits
€50,000 to 60,000 depending on experience.
