Based at the company’s head office in Galway, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join a supportive team and contribute to the successful financial and contractual management of a varied project portfolio.

About Your New Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Your main duties include:

  • Managing project costs, budgets, valuations, variations, and financial reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing tender documents, contracts, subcontractor packages, and procurement requirements.
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Working closely with project managers and site teams to maintain commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing regular commercial reports and providing accurate financial information to senior management.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of construction projects.

What Skills You Need

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, construction economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in cost management, valuations, variations, subcontractor management, and final accounts.
  • A good understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial risk management.
  • Excellent numerical, organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively.
