About Your New Role as Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the financial management of construction projects, from pre-contract through to final account. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and senior management to ensure costs are controlled, budgets are adhered to, and contractual obligations are met. Main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing tender documents, cost estimates, and bills of quantities.
  • Managing project budgets, valuations, and cost reporting to ensure financial performance.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Administering contract documentation and managing variations and change orders.
  • Producing accurate progress reports and financial statements for senior management.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant health, safety, and quality standards.

 

What Skills You Need as a Quantity Surveyor:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and reporting tools.
