About Your New Job as Project Architect

  • Lead and manage healthcare architecture projects from early concept through to completion, delivering high-quality, patient-centred environments across primary care, acute healthcare, and specialist medical facilities.
  • Oversee technical design development, ensuring full compliance with Irish Building Regulations, HSE/HIQA standards, technical guidance documents, and healthcare-specific design requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, clinical teams, contractors, and multidisciplinary consultants to ensure functional, safe, and efficient project outcomes.
  • Carry out site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to healthcare design standards.
  • Act as a job runner, managing project timelines, budgets, stakeholder expectations, and project resources effectively.

What Skills You Need as Project Architect

  • 10+ years of experience as an Architect, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects (acute, primary care, clinical facilities, or medical fit-outs).
  • Excellent technical skills with a thorough understanding of Building Regulations, HSE guidelines, infection control principles, universal design, and healthcare planning requirements.
  • Proven experience in site management, construction-stage coordination, and resolving complex technical challenges in healthcare environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client-management abilities, with confidence working alongside medical professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Irish healthcare experience is essential, including familiarity with local authorities, HSE procedures, HIQA standards, and healthcare design compliance pathways.
