About Your New Job
As Production Supervisor, you will:
- Plan, oversee and ensure the smooth running of daily production and operational activities across all production rooms.
- Lead and support approximately 40 employees across packing lines, working closely with the Production Planner and Line Leads.
- Ensure finished materials are manufactured to the highest quality standards and meet production and despatch schedules.
- Manage multiple daily changeovers across a product range
- Maintain strong compliance with GMP+, UFAS, NASC and Department of Agriculture requirements, in conjunction with the Quality Department.
- Ensure products are used in rotation and within their stated shelf life.
- Monitor inventory, despatch performance and OTIF targets, maintaining a minimum level of 95%.
- Manage labour costs within budget and support the achievement of monthly invoicing targets.
- Promote a “right first time” culture and reduce customer complaints through strong quality and service delivery.
- Identify training needs and support the ongoing development of Operators in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, Sales Managers, customers and other key stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for the recruitment, retention and engagement of Operators.
- Continuously review processes and identify opportunities to improve operational and customer service performance.
The role operates on a day shift from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Additional duties may be assigned by the CEO or Director of Site Operations.
What Skills You Need
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role, with responsibility for leading a sizeable team.
- Experience managing high-volume production, packing operations and frequent product changeovers.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing compliance, ideally including GMP+, UFAS, NASC or Department of Agriculture requirements.
- Demonstrable experience meeting production, despatch, quality and customer service targets.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on leadership style, with the ability to motivate, train and develop production employees.
- The ability to manage labour costs, inventory and operational performance effectively.
