About Your New Job

  • Support Procurement Manager: As the Procurement Assistant, you will support the Procurement Manager with all associated buying administration and act as a point of contact for suppliers and internal purchasing queries.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage key supplier relationships through consistent appraisal and review, ensuring optimal price, technical specifications, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Order Processing and Management: Raise purchase orders, process material orders in a timely manner, and follow up on order delays and errors to find solutions and prevent recurring issues.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with Site Foremen across several construction sites to ascertain supply needs, set up new schemes/projects on Coins, and maintain files on all projects including contracts, correspondence, changes, amendments, clarifications, and payment schedules.
  • Negotiation and Pricing: Assemble pricing packages from various suppliers for comparative purposes, negotiate rates and pricing blocks with key suppliers, and compile and maintain a library of prices on Coins.

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in purchasing, preferably the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work on your own initiative and take accountability for your role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to act as a point of contact for suppliers and internal queries, and to participate in project meetings.
