Principal Procurement Specialist

About Your New Job

As Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to reduce costs and enhance supplier value, focusing on direct sourcing in the metals category.
  • Lead complex, high-value supplier negotiations and manage strategic contracts to drive competitive advantage.
  • Partner cross-functionally (including Supplier Quality and Supplier Engineering teams) to achieve service, quality, and cost targets.
  • Own and nurture executive-level supplier relationships; resolve issues and drive long-term partnership initiatives.
  • Present executive-ready materials, influence stakeholders up to VP level, and act as a trusted advisor on all matters of supplier risk and strategy.
  • Lead enterprise-level projects, develop talent, provide coaching, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

What Skills You Need

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree (level 8) in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Sourcing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7.5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven success in category strategy, complex negotiations, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional project delivery.
  • Ability to independently address ambiguous, enterprise-wide challenges and mitigate financial, geopolitical, and supply risks.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with a detail-oriented, collaborative approach.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or professional certification (CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience in medical device or similarly regulated industry, and in the sourcing/procurement of metal components.
