About Your New Job

As the Clinical Waste Facility Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operation of a clinical waste treatment facility. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient management of the site.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing all facility operations, plant, machinery and infrastructure to maximise reliability and operational efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with EPA licensing requirements, environmental regulations and health and safety legislation.
• Leading, developing and supporting site personnel while promoting a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
• Managing preventative maintenance programmes and coordinating reactive maintenance activities.
• Overseeing contractors and service providers, ensuring they meet company standards and contractual obligations.
• Monitoring operational KPIs, budgets and overall facility performance.
• Coordinating audits, inspections and regulatory reporting.
• Driving environmental performance, waste minimisation and sustainability initiatives.
• Maintaining emergency response procedures and business continuity plans.
• Working with internal stakeholders, customers and regulatory agencies to resolve operational matters effectively.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance productivity, compliance and cost efficiency.

What Skills You Need

• At least 5 years’ experience in facility management, waste management, industrial operations or a similar regulated environment.
• Experience managing operational teams and leading site-based activities.
• Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience managing maintenance programmes, contractors and facility operations.
• Experience managing budgets and operational expenditure.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills, including experience using maintenance or operational management systems.

A qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Facilities Management or a related discipline would be advantageous. A relevant trade background combined with equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience in waste management, environmental services or industrial processing would be beneficial, as would knowledge of EPA licence compliance, ISO management systems, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement methodologies.
