About Your New Job
As the Payroll Specialist, you will:
- Accurately collect, validate, and process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
- Verify time & attendance, overtime, leave, and statutory entitlements.
- Apply PAYE, USC, PRSI, pensions, benefits, and garnishments for gross-to-net calculations.
- Ensure payroll compliance with Irish legislation, Revenue requirements, and sector-specific rules.
- Handle payroll queries and anomalies, providing clear explanations to clients.
- Prepare payroll reports, summaries, journals, and perform reconciliations for client accountants.
- Support year-end processes, including P60 equivalents, balancing statements, and Revenue submissions.
- Participate in continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and updating SOPs.
- Maintain and update payroll systems (Sage Payroll).
- Reconcile payroll data with client finance teams.
- Manage statutory leave calculations (maternity, paternity, parental, sick pay).
- Prepare and file statutory returns (PAYE Modernisation submissions).
- Support payroll audits and compliance checks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data security.
- Keep up to date with payroll legislation and best practices.
What Skills You Need
- 2–4 years’ payroll experience (practice environment preferred).
- IPASS qualification or equivalent desirable.
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction payroll a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of Irish employment law and Revenue requirements.
