Our client is a leading mechanical and electrical contractor based in Dublin with a turnover of over €70 Million +. They work on a wide variety of projects that include commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and data centres. The company has recently embarked on a period of significant growth and strategic development, and as part of this, they are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for the greater Dublin area. The company have a great reputation in the market, working with some of the leading tier one main contractors on multimillion euro mechanical packages.


About Your New Job

Duties include:

  • Conduct comprehensive design reviews of drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure adherence to applicable standards and industry guidelines.
  • Oversee the installation of works to ensure they meet project specifications and the project QA plan, including pre-agreed benchmarks.
  • Develop alternative engineering solutions, providing detailed calculations and sketches for client approval.
  • Familiarize yourself with Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the project scope, ensuring compliance with specifications and prioritizing the schedule. This will involve generating and managing Requests for Information (RFI) for submission to the client.
  • Review coordinated construction drawings and documentation, and prepare and monitor technical submittals for client approval.
  • Perform detailed reviews of specialist supplier packages to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and design intent.
  • Prepare and monitor the procurement schedule in collaboration with the procurement team.
  • Review BCAR preliminary inspection plans and coordinate with the quality team.


What Skills You Need

  • A Level 7/8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience working in Building Services
  • Proficiency in IT, especially with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Packages.


What's on Offer

Successful applicants will receive a competitive remuneration package. This is based on a salary of circa €55K - €65K (dependent on experience) and a comprehensive benefit package including a bonus, pension contribution and a clear pathway to move into a Project Management role. This role is offering a candidate the opportunity to work closely with a Project Manager and a fast track to becoming a Project Manager.
