About Your New Job
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on telehandler machinery to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational. You will work closely with the wider maintenance team to minimise downtime and maintain high standards across the fleet.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and servicing on telehandler machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults efficiently.
- Completing preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Inspecting machinery and identifying potential issues before they become major faults.
- Replacing worn or damaged components as required.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting completed work.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Adhering to all health & safety procedures and wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar maintenance role (preferred).
- Experience maintaining or repairing telehandler machinery or similar plant equipment is highly desirable.
- A valid Safe Pass (essential).
- Manual Handling certification (essential).
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety practices.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable, proactive, and hardworking attitude with strong attention to detail.
