They are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team on a long-term basis, working within a busy and modern manufacturing facility in Oranmore, Co. Galway.
About Your New Job
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of plant equipment and machinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repairs while helping to minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and servicing of plant equipment and machinery.
- Developing and implementing a plant-wide preventative maintenance programme.
- Diagnosing mechanical breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs.
- Identifying potential equipment issues and taking proactive measures to prevent breakdowns.
- Scheduling periodic testing of safety equipment and maintaining accurate records.
- Recycling and re-using parts and materials where possible.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Working closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise plant downtime.
- Following all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, systems and rules.
- Reporting hazards, incidents and equipment defects promptly.
- Working safely and demonstrating a lead-by-example approach to Health & Safety at all times.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A time-served trade qualification in a mechanical discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out preventative and routine maintenance.
- Good attention to detail and a precise, methodical approach to your work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to breakdowns.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices within an industrial environment.
- Good communication skills and a reliable, professional approach to work.
