About Your New Job as Mechanical Design Engineer
- Design and develop mechanical building services solutions from concept to installation.
- Produce mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical reports.
- Develop coordinated drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and BIM processes.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops and project meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, BS EN Standards and CIBSE guidance.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and project handover.
- Undertake site visits as required to support project delivery.
What Skills You Need as Design Engineer
- Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer or Product Design role
- Strong understanding of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems.
- Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering calculation software.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and digital project collaboration tools.

- Chartered status or working towards membership with CIBSE, IMechE or equivalent.

- Experience delivering commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial or data centre projects.
- Understanding of modular and off-site construction methodologies.
