This is a hands-on technical position within a busy manufacturing environment, offering exposure to modern automated equipment and opportunities to develop your engineering skills.
About Your New Job
As the Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will:
- Keep production equipment operating reliably by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
- Investigate equipment faults, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support the introduction, installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
- Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance.
- Take part in continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, reliability and reducing downtime.
- Maintain appropriate spare-parts availability and support technical documentation and equipment records.
What Skills You Need
- NFQ Level 6 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline — qualified trades candidates with strong industrial experience will also be considered.
- Strong mechanical / electromechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Hands-on experience working with industrial production or automated equipment.
- Good understanding of fault-finding, preventative maintenance and problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first approach.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern.
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Automation, robotics or PLC-controlled equipment
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Electrical systems and controls
- Vision systems
- Workshop machinery / machining
- High-volume or regulated manufacturing
- Equipment installation, commissioning or qualification
