Maintenance Technician - Night Shift role available with an excellent Dublin based food company. This role will primarily cover the night shift, but flexibility would also be expected to cover days/evenings if needed. Permanent role with strong salary package and shift premium.

Purpose of the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and reliability of equipment within the facility. This includes conducting inspections, calibration, preventative maintenance, and coordinating external repairs as required.
The role involves working closely with operational teams to maintain equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards through proactive monitoring and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a preventative maintenance programme to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Carry out routine inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic repairs on plant and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for specialised maintenance, servicing, and installations.
  • Oversee outsourced maintenance work to ensure timely and efficient completion with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Use resources efficiently and track costs associated with repairs, parts, labour, and external services.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables to ensure availability for maintenance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency in maintenance processes and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with relevant safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
  • Perform regular safety checks on equipment and enforce safe working practices.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams on equipment usage and optimisation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to enhance equipment performance and streamline processes.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues to minimise operational disruption.
  • Support team objectives by providing flexibility and assisting colleagues as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed to support the overall function.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Experience in a regulated or quality-driven environment is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate external maintenance providers and manage resources effectively.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems relevant to production or operational equipment.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in standard office applications and ability to maintain clear documentation.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in an operational setting.
  • Flexible, proactive, and results-oriented with good analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours when required for maintenance or emergency situations.
