About Your New Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of a busy maintenance function within a forward-thinking business known for delivering top-tier mechanical engineering services — including HVAC, plumbing, chilled water, ventilation, air-conditioning, and BMS systems — on primarily commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works for building utilities (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Support and manage maintenance engineers, ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve breakdowns and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Prepare quotes for PPMs and remedial works; manage related budgets and reporting.
  • Maintain and update client databases and internal management software.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant engineering, safety, and quality standards.
  • Monitor team performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee document control within the Maintenance division, including RAMS and H&S documentation.
  • Maintain logs, spare parts records, and FGAS register; ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

What Skills You Need

  • Minimum 3 years management experience within maintenance or facilities.
  • Ideally come from a mechanical maintenance or building services background.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with maintenance management software (e.g., ABM) an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, “can-do” approach.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
