About Your New Job
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment across the sawmill operate efficiently and safely.
You will:
- Carry out preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Support process improvements, plant upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Manufacture or modify parts using milling, turning, and welding techniques.
- Ensure all maintenance work meets strict health and safety standards.
What Skills You Need
- Time-served mechanical fitter qualification (Mechanical Automation, Maintenance, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role within heavy industry.
- Experience working with motors, gearboxes, chain drives, and hydraulic systems.
- Valid driving licence.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor/indoor environment.
