About Your New Job

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment across the sawmill operate efficiently and safely.

You will:

  • Carry out preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance on production machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Support process improvements, plant upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manufacture or modify parts using milling, turning, and welding techniques.
  • Ensure all maintenance work meets strict health and safety standards.

What Skills You Need

  • Time-served mechanical fitter qualification (Mechanical Automation, Maintenance, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role within heavy industry.
  • Experience working with motors, gearboxes, chain drives, and hydraulic systems.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor/indoor environment.
