Maintenance Fitter

Day shift role with flexibility for on call support.

About Your New Job

  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure efficient production.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on high-speed production lines, minimising downtime and maintaining performance.
  • Install, commission, and support upgrades to production machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Perform maintenance on critical mechanical components, including rollers, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work closely with production teams while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures to maximise equipment reliability and product quality.

What Skills You Need

  • QQI Level 6 National Craft Certificate in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or a related mechanical trade.
  • Minimum 3 years' mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with high-speed or continuous production equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, bearings, rotating equipment, and the ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills with a strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Experience with welding/fabrication, Lean Maintenance, 5S, TPM, PLC-controlled machinery, or non-woven/textile manufacturing would be a distinct advantage.
