Our client is a well-established business operating within the construction and precast concrete sector, with a busy facility based in Oranmore, Co. Galway. Due to ongoing operational requirements, they are now seeking an experienced and reliable Loading Operative to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or construction environment who is looking for consistent, long-term work. The successful candidate will initially join on a long-term contract, with a genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position based on performance, reliability, and ongoing business requirements.
About Your New Job
As a Loading Operative, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient handling, preparation, and loading of precast concrete products. Working as part of a busy team, you will be responsible for moving materials around the site, preparing customer orders, loading delivery vehicles, and ensuring products are handled safely and correctly.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating a truck and other mechanical handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading customer orders and transporting materials around the site.
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Loading precast products onto delivery trucks in line with dispatch schedules.
- Checking and verifying orders prior to dispatch to ensure accuracy.
- Carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance checks on trucks and forklift equipment.
- Following quality control procedures to ensure products meet the required standards.
- Working safely around heavy precast concrete products and mechanical handling equipment.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or construction environment.
- A valid truck licence – essential.
- A valid forklift licence is preferred.
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to follow instructions, dispatch schedules, and site procedures.
