The Role:

The Laboratory Technician will maintain quality standards by performing QC inspections in the manufacturing facility and also perform in process tests on raw materials and finished products. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a good knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Food Safety & Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001, HACCP and customers’ standards together with all quality and regulatory documentation relevant to the company.
  • Ensure raw material, in-process and finished product testing is completed and verified as per product specification.
  • Request, review and file certificates of analysis for all raw materials received.
  • Conduct routine Quality Control checks across the site to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Perform daily calibrations on laboratory equipment and measurement devices.
  • Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), master certificates and raw material data sheets.
  • Implement Change Control and maintain appropriate documentation as per procedure
  • Report non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Co-ordinate and investigate customer complaints and record as per procedure.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Science degree or equivalent.

Skills and Competencies

  • Self-motivating with the ability to work on own initiative;
  • Good time management and organisational skills;
  • Good problem solving abilities;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work effectively with a team to accomplish organisational goals;
  • Strong safety awareness.
