About Your New Job
- Assist in HVAC System Setup: Help set up heating and cooling units by transporting materials, positioning equipment, and mounting or connecting various components.
- Routine Maintenance: Work alongside technicians to perform routine maintenance, such as replacing air filters, checking fluid levels, and cleaning ducts.
- Minor Repairs: Assist with minor repairs, such as tightening connections or replacing small components, under the supervision of a trained technician.
- Job Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by setting up and cleaning work areas, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Record Keeping: Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Customer Interaction: Assist with customers' queries and ensure service standards are met.
What Skills You Need
- Education: Secondary Diploma required. Enrollment in an HVAC training program is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in installation, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC appliances.
- Knowledge: Understanding of basic principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Documentation: Ability to complete various forms and records, including requisitions, repair, and servicing forms.
- Language: Ability to understand and communicate in English.
- Certification: First aid certification may be beneficial.
