HGV Mechanic - Cork - Up to €50,000 + Vehicle

- Specialises in the repair and maintenance of heavy commercial and industrial vehicles, including mounted equipment and attachments based in Cork.
- Known for its expertise in handling complex hydraulic systems and spark-ignition or diesel engines.
About Your New Job
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, replace, and test all components of diesel internal combustion engines, engine starting systems, and steering and braking systems.
- Adjust, repair, replace, and test all components of clutches, hydraulic couplings, transmissions, transfer cases, and axle assemblies.
- Inspect, repair, and re-assemble suspension systems, frames, wheels, and tracks. Handle equipment winches, power take-offs, pneumatic or hydraulic pumps, booms, cables, blades, and buckets.
- Overhaul and re-assemble electrical components such as alternators, distributors, starters, relays, and solenoids. Prepare work estimates of labor and parts costs and write service reports.
- Keep records and perform other related duties as required.
What Skills You Need
- Qualified by Trade
- Over 2 years post qualified experience working with Heavy Vehicle's.
- Knowledge of the theories and operating principles of spark-ignition and diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and heavy-duty equipment.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
- Skill in the use and care of a variety of hand and power tools and equipment of the trade.
- A full clean Irish Driver's Licence - Class B.
