Health & Safety Officer
📍 Warrenpoint, with travel across Northern Ireland and occasional travel to the Republic of Ireland
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Health & Safety Officer to support the delivery and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards across a fast-paced construction and engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious H&S professional looking to develop their career while working closely with operational teams, promoting a strong safety culture, and helping drive compliance and best practice across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continual improvement of HSEQ systems and procedures.
- Assist with incident, near miss and non-conformance reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across projects.
- Review and support Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Coordinate and monitor health & safety training and competency requirements.
- Support the maintenance and auditing of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Work collaboratively with site teams to promote safe working practices and a positive safety culture.
- Assist in developing and delivering safety initiatives, campaigns and improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation and company standards.
About You
You will be a driven and organised Health & Safety professional with strong communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering, manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Good understanding of construction health & safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience supporting or auditing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
