Due to an exciting new project taking place they are looking for experienced Health and Safety Officers to join the team on leading a project in Athlone.

About Your New Role as a Health and Safety Officer

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be instrumental in upholding safety compliance across diverse construction and engineering projects. You’ll champion safety initiatives, perform on-site inspections, and provide hands-on support to project teams. Main duties include:

  • Monitor all site health and safety activities to guarantee alignment with current regulations and company procedures.
  • Carry out site inspections, hazard assessments, and conduct safety briefings.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, delivering corrective actions and presenting outcomes to leadership.
  • Engage with management, subcontractors, and workers to foster a culture of safety and continuous advancement.
  • Keep safety records and documentation accurate and up to date.

What Skills You Need as a Health and Safety Officer

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Health and Safety position within ideally within construction and pharma, or just construction.
  • Recognized Health and Safety certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar).
  • In-depth understanding of current H&S protocols, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to drive engagement and maintain a proactive safety mindset onsite.
