About Your New Job
As the Health & Safety Officer, reporting to the Quality Manager, you will:
- Promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety legislation and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement or revise safe operational procedures.
- Deliver in-house training (including Manual Handling), lead regular site inspections, and carry out incident investigations.
- Maintain accurate H&S records and prepare insightful reports to improve safety practices.
- Advise on specialist safety areas, including fire regulations and transport of hazardous materials (DGSA).
- Stay abreast of HSE legislation and support continuous improvement in environmental procedures (ISO 14001).
- Participate in and promote environmental objectives (e.g., waste management, energy reduction), accurate documentation, and a culture of sustainability.
- Have a combination of office-based and travel responsibilities.
What Skills You Need
- Minimum third-level qualification in a related discipline.
- At least 3 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or service environment.
- Strong risk assessment, reporting, and Microsoft Word/Excel capabilities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and DGSA qualification are desirable.
- Ability to deliver training, communicate clearly, and work effectively to deadlines.
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental issues.
What's on Offer
- Permanent role with a salary of €40,000–€50,000, paid monthly (Last Friday each month).
- Work hours: 8.15am – 5pm (Monday–Thursday) and 8.15am – 4pm (Friday).
