About Your New Job
- As the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s Health & Safety function, ensuring proactive and robust safety standards across all projects and operations.
- You will develop and embed H&S Management Systems, policies, procedures, and training programmes, providing expert advice and leadership to both management and site teams.
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant Irish Health & Safety legislation, drive continuous improvement, and champion a strong safety culture throughout the business.
- Responsibilities include developing H&S strategy, maintaining risk management processes, overseeing site inspections and audits, managing contractors, coordinating training, and reporting on H&S performance.
- You will collaborate with multiple departments to integrate safety controls with project planning and delivery, support compliance for grant programmes, and lead on emergency preparedness.
What Skills You Need
- QQI Level 8 (or higher) qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or a related H&S discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant Health & Safety experience within the construction industry, with significant experience at senior level.
- Expertise in developing and implementing H&S Management Systems, policies, and improvement programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction safety practices.
- Demonstrable experience in risk management, audits/inspections, incident investigations, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, engaging confidently with site teams, management, and contractors.
- Organisational, reporting, and documentation skills, with great attention to detail.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to company sites.
- Fluent English, both verbal and written.
