Health and Safety Advisor - Cork - Main Contractor - Up to €70K + Vehicle

About Your New Job

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will:

• Conduct regular site safety audits and document findings.
• Provide guidance to site management on Health & Safety regulations.
• Organize and deliver safety training sessions for site personnel.
• Report daily to the Contracts Manager and periodically to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
• Carry out risk assessments and assist in creating method statements.
• Facilitate weekly safety meetings with subcontractors to ensure coordinated and safe operations.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, halting unsafe practices when necessary.
• Support the maintenance of the safety management system and ensure legislative compliance.
• Keep safety documentation current, reviewing subcontractor records regularly.
• Implement daily Safe Plan of Action (SPA) forms.
• Conduct employee inductions and ongoing safety training (e.g., Safe Pass, manual handling).
• Participate in site management meetings to discuss safety concerns.
• Deliver weekly Safety Focus (Toolbox) Talks and maintain attendance records.
• Record, investigate, and report accidents and near misses.
• Prepare monthly safety reports for management.
• Provide advice on and update safe work systems and company safety documentation as needed.

What Skills You Need

• Recognized EHS Degree or Diploma.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in main construction is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
