About Your New Job as Head of Finance
As Head of Finance, you will:
- Lead Accounting and Financial Operations for a national account.
- Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate Trial Balance (TB) outputs and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and post routine journals, perform reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage client queries concerning reconciled balances and month-end positions.
- Support process improvements, audit requirements, and interface controls between sub-ledger and GL.
- Manage, train, and coach finance staff.
What Skills You Need as Head of Finance
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CPA/CMA or equivalent) with strong finance experience.
- Proven track record delivering TB outputs and management accounts in a BAU close environment.
- Expertise in journals, reconciliations, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with sub-ledger to GL operating models.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query desired).
- Strong communication and organised approach.
Nice to have:
- Experience in the Irish Pensions industry or high-volume finance environments.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financial applications.
- Familiarity with life & pensions transaction flows and system changes.
