Due to continued growth and project demands, they are now seeking an experienced Ground Worker to join their team on a busy site based in Old Town, Cavan for long-term work.
About Your New Job
As a Ground Worker, you will play a key role in supporting site operations through a variety of groundwork and general construction duties. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with previous construction experience who is comfortable working on-site and assisting across multiple tasks as required.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out groundworks including drainage, kerbing, trenching, concreting, and backfilling.
- Assisting with site preparation and ensuring work areas are set up safely and efficiently.
- Supporting plant operators, tradespeople, and site management with daily construction activities.
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials around site.
- Operating basic tools and equipment relevant to groundwork tasks.
- Carrying out general labouring duties including site clean-up and maintaining work areas.
- Ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are stored safely and securely.
- Following site drawings and instructions from supervisors and engineers.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations.
- Adhering strictly to all site safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Ground Worker on a construction site.
- A valid Safe Pass (essential).
- Manual Handling certification (essential).
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices on-site.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience working alongside plant machinery (desirable).
What’s on Offer
- €45,000 - €49,000 (depending on experience).
- Monday – Friday, full-time hours. Overtime available but not guaranteed.
- Opportunity to work on a busy and well-managed site in Cavan town.
- Potential for ongoing work subject to performance and project requirements.
