About Your New Job
As the Governance & Risk Manager (Board Secretary), you will:
Lead the Governance and Compliance team, overseeing corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls across AHBRA.
Serve as Board Secretary, coordinating timely, high-quality reporting and information to the Board and its Committees.
Develop and manage robust governance frameworks in line with sector regulations and best practices.
Ensure compliance with statutory governance reporting; manage audit processes and facilitate risk workshops.
Provide specialist advisory and technical guidance to senior management and the Board, supporting key decisions and ensuring alignment with evolving legislation.
Work closely with the Senior Management Team and lead the team’s professional engagement and development.
What Skills You Need
Relevant third-level or professional qualification (minimum Level 7 NFQ).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in governance, risk, or compliance-focused roles.
Proven ability to prepare high-level reports/papers for Boards or oversight bodies.
Demonstrable expertise in developing policies, procedures, and risk registers.
Strong people management and leadership skills.
Desirable:
Experience with internal audit cycles and working in the housing, not-for-profit, financial, or public-sector regulatory context.
Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.

Salary: €60,611 – €78,795, public sector pay with incremental progression.
