Your role will include:

  • Developing and maintaining fire safety policies and strategies: Ensure all personnel are prepared to respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Conducting fire safety training and awareness programmes: Educate staff on fire prevention and emergency response procedures.
  • Planning and executing fire drills and evacuation procedures: Regularly test and refine emergency plans for all buildings at a complex environment.
  • Investigating fire incidents and implementing improvements: Conduct thorough investigations and follow through on recommendations to enhance fire safety.
  • Managing compliance, audits, and inspections: Develop and lead programmes to ensure adherence to statutory regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with the Stake holders and OH&S manager: Monitor and review works on existing life safety systems through the P2W system.
  • Reporting on fire safety management: Provide updates to management and safety committees as required.

What Skills You Need

  • Extensive experience: At least 10 years in a similar role within a multi-complex environment.
  • Audit and inspection proficiency: Experience in conducting comprehensive audit and inspection programmes related to fire safety.
  • Training and development skills: Ability to create and deliver effective training materials.
  • Legislative knowledge: Familiarity with principal fire safety legislation.
  • Compliance and operational understanding: Strong commitment to evidencing compliance in challenging environments.
  • IT and organisational skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD/Bluebeam, with strong administrative and organisational abilities.

Education & Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification: Degree in Fire Safety or a related field.
  • Technical proficiency: Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD/Bluebeam (or similar PDF editor programme).
