About Your New Job

As the EHS Officer, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and provide comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety support across all projects. You will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong safety culture while ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies and procedures across construction and renewables projects

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively

  • Act as PSDP and PSCS, reviewing method statements, RAMS, and contractor compliance

  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and site inductions to employees and contractors

  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and preventive recommendations

  • Manage environmental controls including waste, noise, emissions, and sustainability initiatives

  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, reporting performance metrics to senior management

What Skills You Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification (highly desirable)

  • 3–5 years’ experience in an EHS role within the construction sector

  • Strong working knowledge of Irish H&S and environmental legislation

  • Proven experience in risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and contractor management

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
