I'm currently working a very exciting EHS role with one of our Wexford based clients. This is a permanent role with strong salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EHS programmes, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
- Drive and embed a strong safety culture across the site.
- Lead the development and execution of the site’s risk management strategy and Business Continuity Plan.
- Support production leadership in achieving EHS KPIs aligned with overall operational targets.
- Manage site-wide risk, including business impact assessments.
- Maintain relationships with external regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure full compliance with environmental and safety legislation.
- Oversee emissions, effluent management, and regulatory reporting.
- Lead and maintain industry certifications (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Manage fire risk, including emergency planning and coordination with local emergency services.
- Develop and deliver EHS communication strategies to drive awareness and engagement.
- Support maintenance and production teams in embedding best-in-class safety practices.
- Lead incident investigations (environmental and safety), ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety systems, environmental performance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes.
- Set environmental objectives aligned with regulatory requirements and continuous improvement goals.
- Oversee environmental reporting (e.g. annual environmental reports, monitoring data).
- Monitor energy usage and coordinate with third-party providers to drive efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with industrial emissions licensing requirements.
- Promote a strong site culture, leading by example in safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
Key Requirements / Experience
- Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related discipline.
- Professional EHS qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS management role within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environments.
- Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing setting.
- Solid knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, environmental regulations, and safety systems.
- Experience implementing EHS management systems and compliance programmes.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Highly motivated team player with strong collaboration skills.
