About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join a global procurement function supporting strategic sourcing and supplier management across key industrial categories. This role is focused on driving cost optimisation, supplier performance, and long-term category strategy across a global supply base.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver measurable savings, strengthen supply chain resilience, and ensure best-in-class sourcing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse direct material spend to identify cost optimisation opportunities and improve total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Develop and manage RFQs, supplier benchmarking, and sourcing events
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, lead time, and reliability
  • Lead commercial negotiations and secure favourable pricing and contract terms
  • Develop and implement category sourcing strategies, including long-term supplier and risk mitigation plans
  • Manage supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvements
  • Deliver against category savings targets across regional and global scope
  • Maintain sourcing databases, contracts, and supplier documentation
  • Collaborate with global procurement and operations teams on strategic initiatives
  • Lead additional sourcing and procurement projects as business needs arise

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
  • Strong negotiation and contract management experience
  • Experience managing RFQs and supplier selection processes
  • Ability to analyse spend data and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Strategic thinker with experience building category strategies
  • Strong understanding of supplier relationship management
  • Experience working with procurement/sourcing systems and data tools
  • Ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to industrial/mechanical components such as compressors, pumps, coils, fans, or heat exchangers
  • Understanding of global supply markets and economic trends affecting sourcing decisions
  • Experience in supply chain risk management
