About Your New Job
- Promote and maintain sea freight pricing policy in conjunction with the local commercial director and head office. Oversee current pricing policies, liaising with trade managers and the internal sales team.
- Manage the approved commercial budget in conjunction with the local commercial director and head office. Review approved commercial budgets ensuring the commercial team is on track and identify areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including existing customer portfolios and future key-account programs. Stay up to date with industry trends and market conditions, making recommendations for business development opportunities. Target new business accounts on all trades together with the commercial teams and global agents overseas.
- Manage local trade managers, assisting and guiding them with the management of the wider commercial team. Develop the commercial team to meet the expectations of the local management and head office. Review performance and statistic reports for the commercial director and head office.
What Skills You Need
- Experience in developing commercial sales processes and systems.
- Global international experience within the shipping industry, clients, and markets.
- Proven experience in managing and leading commercial teams.
- Ability to create business development plans to secure new business.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide, manage, and motivate the commercial teams.
- Excellent mathematical ability and understanding of currency fluctuations.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills, together with a familiarity with popular software packages such as Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivation to use initiative and innovate when required.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
