Our client is a well-established construction and precast business with a major operation in Oranmore, Co. Galway. Due to ongoing project requirements, they are now seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Carpenter looking for consistent, long-term work within a professional construction environment. The successful candidate will initially join on a long-term contract, with a genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position based on performance, reliability, and ongoing business requirements.
About Your New Job
As a Carpenter, you will play an important role on a busy construction site, carrying out carpentry, installation, and repair work to a high standard. You will work as part of an experienced team and will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures using timber, plywood, and other materials.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures using a range of materials.
- Identifying and resolving issues that may arise during construction or installation and adapting plans where necessary.
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider construction team.
- Maintaining a safe and professional working environment while following all site safety procedures and PPE requirements.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant certification or qualification in Carpentry with previous experience in a construction environment.
- Strong carpentry and woodworking skills, with excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Competent and safe use of a range of hand and power tools.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
