Our client is a well-established contractor operating within the construction and civil engineering sector across Dublin. With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for delivering high-quality work, they are known for maintaining high safety standards, efficient site operations, and a collaborative working environment.
Due to continued growth and increased project demands, they are now seeking an experienced Banksman / Signaller to join their team on a busy construction site based in the Dublin.
About Your New Job
As a Banksman / Signaller, you will play a vital role in supporting site operations by ensuring the safe movement of vehicles, plant, lifting operations, and materials across site. This is a key position requiring a high level of attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work closely with crane operators, machine drivers, and site teams.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Directing and guiding crane operators, plant operators, and delivery vehicles safely around site.
- Acting as the designated signaller during lifting operations in line with site requirements.
- Communicating clearly and effectively with crane operators, site management, and ground workers.
- Ensuring exclusion zones and safe systems of work are maintained at all times.
- Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Carrying out visual checks on lifting accessories and reporting any issues immediately.
- Monitoring site traffic movements and pedestrian safety.
- Assisting with general site coordination where required.
- Ensuring all lifting operations comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working area.
- Adhering strictly to all site safety procedures and always wearing appropriate PPE.
What Skills You Need
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Banksman / Signaller on construction sites.
- A valid Safe Pass (essential).
- Manual Handling certification (essential).
- A valid CSCS Banksman / Signaller ticket (essential).
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations and site safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive hourly rate depending on experience.
- Monday – Friday, full-time hours. Overtime available but not guaranteed.
