About Your New Job as an Architectural Technologist

  • Produce detailed technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, supporting projects across planning, tender, and construction stages.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver high-quality technical design solutions.
  • Lead the preparation of planning applications, construction drawings, and comprehensive technical packages.
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with Irish building regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with design teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Attend and contribute to site visits, monitoring construction progress and ensuring adherence to drawings and specifications.
  • Manage drawing registers, revisions, and project documentation to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Support project delivery through effective communication, problem-solving, and technical input.

What Skills You Need as an Architectural Technologist

  • Degree in Architectural Technology or a related discipline (RIAI accredited preferred).
  • Approximately 5 years’ professional experience in an architectural practice or similar environment.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential), with working knowledge of Revit considered an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of Irish building regulations, construction detailing, and technical standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage technical information.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
  • Interest or experience in BIM processes is beneficial but not essential.
